When we use botulinum toxin (Botox) in the jaw muscle, also known as the masseter muscle, it "relaxes" them. As a result, the weakening effect of Botox reduces the size of your masseter muscles. Having any serious side effects from Botox treatment is rare. The side effects may include mild redness, bruising or soreness at the injection site. Very rarely you may feel fatigued or get flu-like symptoms. These are temporary and will subside within a few days.

Results are noticeable within 1 week. However, some people may see the full effect in up to 2 weeks.
